History
The Centre d’expertise Marie-Vincent owes its existence to the Marie-Vincent Foundation, who commissioned a study in 2002 pertaining to sexually abused children aged 12 and younger.
The study highlighted the fact that specialized services for this clientele were insufficient in Québec.
In answer to this crying need, both the Centre d’expertise Marie-Vincent and the Chaire interuniversitaire Fondation Marie-Vincent were created in 2005 to offer integrated and specialized multidisciplinary services to child sexual abuse victims, their parent(s) and families.
