Who is the Director of Youth Protection?

The Director of Youth Protection is responsible for enforcing the Youth Protection Act

When a report is filed, the DYP:

  • Conducts a summary analysis;
  • Verifies allegations and decides whether or not to pursue the case;
  • If the case is pursued, evaluates the child's situation;
  • Determines and enforces corrective measures to ensure the child's safety.

The DYP is mandated to ensure the child's safety and uncompromised development.
