Research activities of the Chaire interuniversitaire Marie-Vincent are conducted under the joint direction of Mireille Cyr, full professor at the Psychology Department of Université de Montréal, and Martine Hébert, full professor at the Sexology Department of Université du Québec à Montréal.
Mireille Cyr and Martine Hébert both hold Ph.Ds in Psychology and have been conducting research on the subject of sexual abuse for more than 20 years. Mireille Cyr’s work regards in particular children and adolescents who are sexually abused and their mothers. Martine Hébert, for her part, has focused on the issue of diversity of profiles in sexually abused children and on the evaluation of prevention and intervention programs. The two are members of several research teams and their work has been funded by various provincial and federal granting agencies.
Also bring their expertise to the team are clinical researchers Mélanie M. Gagnon and Isabelle V. Daignault of the Centre d’expertise Marie-Vincent.
The Chair works closely together with the Centre d'expertise Marie-Vincent and the designated Partners thus providing for an innovative learning approach.
The Chaire interuniversiraire Marie-Vincent support and supervise graduate students to ensure the emergence of top-notch new-generation professionals in the area of intervention with sexually abused children. It is an invaluable resource for Quebec society!
