Psychosocial Services

The Centre d'expertise Marie-Vincent's psychosocial services are offered to child sexual abuse victims, aged 12 and younger, and to their parent(s) or accompanying adults.

A child must be referred by one of the Centre's designated Partners in order to receive psychosocial services.

A multidisciplinary team of professionals (Psychoeducators, Psychologists, Sexologists, Social Workers) provide the following clinical services at the Centre:

  • Following police investigation upon disclosure of child sexual abuse, Personalized Services are provided for parents to help them cope with the situation, to support them in their parental role and to accompany them during the various stages of the medical, social or social-judicial process;
  • The child and parent's need are assessed;
  • Specialized and need-based services are the offered to the child and his parent;
  • Specialized treatment services for children presenting sexual behaviour problems.
